A delegation from Afghanistan on a business visit
On October 23 a delegation of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan visited Belgorod state technological university named after V.G. Shukhov, which included the Deputy Secretary General for Parliamentary and Legislative Affairs of the Upper House of the National Assembly, Associate Professor Shah Sultan Akifi and Policy Advisor of UN Mission, Dr. Amin Mohammad Zaman. The purpose of the visit was to expand partnership between Afghanistan and our university, as well as discussing questions of scientific and cultural exchange.
This is not the first visit of honorable visitors to BGTU Following last year’s visit year Alumni Association of Russian universities was established in Afghanistan, which sent 14 students to study at BSTU.
During the meeting with Vice-Rector for International Relations, Professor Ruslan Valeryevich Lesovik, the guests discussed ways of further cooperation. In particular, the parties agreed that Afghan representatives, in addition to undergraduate and graduate students, PhD students will be sent to our university.
After a tour of the campus Shah Sultan Akifi and Amin Mohammad Zaman appreciated the transformations which have taken place at the university for a year. The guests were particularly impressed by recently opened new swimming pool and high technology Center.
