Extending ties with Italy
On October 16, representatives of an agricultural department of the University of Florence, Paolo Coppi and a representative of CosInd company in Milan Marco Mattiolo during a business visit to Belgorod Region visited Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov.
The Italians visitors got acquainted with the university campus. Foreign visitors were specially interested in the Department of Materials Science and Technology and the section of Nanosystems in building materials. Head of the Department, Prof. Valeria Strokova gave details of the department, current trends in scientific activities and innovative projects. She demonstrated unique laboratory equipment.
Then the Italian representatives met with BSTU chansellor Professor Sergey Glagolev. Paolo Coppi and Marco Mattiolo said they were amazed at the highest level of development of the university and achievements of scientific schools. They expressed interest in working closely with our university for the implementation of joint innovation projects and training of engineering personnel.
At the end of the visit, the guests have outlined ways to further cooperation with our university.
