The program of stay in Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov within the framework of annual summer language school " Study + leisure ", organized by the Preparatory faculty for foreign students (PFF) has been completed. The Dean of the Faculty E.N. Legochkina makes a huge contribution to the development of international relations and fruitful work with foreign nationals. This time the faculty hosted young people from France, Egypt, Brazil and Uganda. Under the program every weekday during a month they had an in-depth Russian language study program, including phonetics through music, watching videos, as well as sightseeing tours at weekends, which enabled them to become better acquainted with the rich culture of our region.
PFF staff were happy to work with foreign students, noting their desire for knowledge. The young people even asked for more home assignments, as they wanted to speak Russian better and faster. " We were very pleased with their great interest in everything related to Russia: Russian films, Russian classical literature and Russian history - say the language instructors of the Russian language department. - Among the tasks of the most interest - a review of a movie they liked. The students chose "Peter-FM” and "Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath".
Tugdual Rannu, a student from France expressed his opinion as follows: "I have always thought that Russia is an interesting country, but it came out to be even more interesting than I imagined. People here are very friendly and nice, and they always help you if you need help. I have improved my "Russian", and it was all due to the faculty staff, who love their job and are friendly to students. "
Especially memorable to the guests was excursions to the diorama museum - "The Battle of Kursk " and the State Military-Historical Memorial "Prokhorovka Battlefield", where, with the help of the stories, told by the tour guide, the students were able to find themselves in the heroic atmosphere of the Great Patriotic War.
The language school attendees were able to learn even more about the history of Belgorod region in the course of visits to the cave monastery in the town of Valuyki, Holki underground monastery and “Krasivo” sanatorium. Visiting an art museum, the foreigners were able to see a unique exhibition of paintings by Ivan Aivazovsky. And the Museum of Folk Culture the students were making dolls in a way it used to be done in Russia long ago. Leaving the museum, the foreign students felt that everything they had seen allowed them to take a fresh look at the history and culture of Russia and Belgorod region, much to understand. Visiting a Heritage Village and more tours will be also memorable.
"Everything seems a little different from what I imagined before. This is an opportunity to see what the Russian people think and how they live. This is an invaluable experience "- concluded Dylan Moten.
Many students also share the opinion of Isabelle Dornier from France: "I learned that the Russians are very kind and open. I liked Russia very much. And I want to come back here next year "to speak Russian well".
Upon completion the students passed an examination and received certificates, and some are still proceeding with their studies in August.
The Russian language instructors invited the students to come to study in Belgorod on a winter vacation. In winter it is really cold here, but cold temperatures outside are fully compensated by warmth and hospitality of the Russian people.
