France and Russia: Cooperation in the Education Sphere
On January 23, Belgoirod Shukhov State technological University received the delegation of the University of Lille 1 (France).
The head of the delegation - head of the international service Veronique Levelle, a professor of chemistry Nasser Idrissi and professor of management Silven Vilyar .
This is a return visit – in autumn 2013 BSTU headed by the Rector of the University , prof . S.N. Glagolev and vice rectors, responsible for major areas of activity got acquainted with scientific, educational and laboratory facilities of the university of Lille 1. At the same time the parties expressed a wish to develop cooperation between our universities .
Representatives of Lille -1 arrived in Belgorod with the intention of signing is a legal document which will become the first step on the path of developing the cooperation.
The signing the document was attended by the First Vice-Rector, Prof.. N.A. Shapovalov , Vice -rector for Academic Affairs Prof . V.M. Polakov, Vice-Rector for International Relations , Prof.. R.V. Lesovik and representatives of the center of international education and cooperation.
While signing the agreement , N.A. Shapovalov said: " Historically we have had very close ties in various fields with France. We have always had interpenetration of cultures . Here in Russia, we are quite well aware of French literature, on which more than one generation was brought up. Now it's time to establish cooperation in educational and scientific spheres. Today we are signing a memorandum of understanding . And supporting it with concrete actions depends on ourselves only. "
In the near future, a group of BSTU students will go on exchange program to Lille 1. At the moment they are taking an intensive course of French.
A brief tour of the university had been arranged for the visitors, during which the Vice-Rector on research , Prof.. E.I. Yevtushenko demonstrated a unique X-ray laboratory equipment and High Technology Center .
French colleagues attended a specialized laboratory where the equipment is installed for simulation cement production technology process at the Department of cement and composite materials. At the moment, representatives of cement factories were mastering the equipment. At present they are taking professional retraining courses and advanced training. The department already has a close relationship with Lafarge Cement, a well-known French company .
The representatives of Lille 1 highly appreciated the university sports facilities, after seeing the swimming pool and sports halls.
The informative tour through the halls of the museum and exhibition center was held by the director T.L .Konoreva . The students’ works, the exhibition of children's drawings "Christmas Dreams" caused sincere admiration of his French colleagues . They also enjoyed the communication with the young scientists on the section of nanosystems in construction materials science.
