Green concretes as a subject of webinar
On June 18 the section of nanotechnology in construction materials science held a webinar with the participation of Dr. Eng. Mohammed Alhaj Hussein, a scientist from Saudi Arabia. The honoured scientist represents Saudi Green Building Council, engaged in environmentally friendly «green» building projects.
The report delivered by the scientist was dedicated to volcanic rock use to produce green concrete and its prospects. «Green» concretes are composite materials with minimum environmental impact. For instance, in the USA, concretes with reduced cement content are referred to «green».
After the lecture the participants exchange their opinion online. The problem of natural raw material use was in the focus of attention.
The participants expressed cordial gratitude to professor Valeriy Lesovik, head of the department of construction materials science, products and structures for the arrangements. «The value of our today’s communication is beyond any doubt, such webinars should go on!» — stated the webinar visitors.
