Youth should study at this University!
On February 26, 2013 Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov was visited by a foreign delegation, which included representatives from China, Cameroon, India, Nepal and Pakistan.
By tradition, the guests began their visit by laying flowers at the monument to V. Shukhov. Then they met with representatives of university administrative staff, directors of institutes, department heads. The guests were shown a film about BSTU in English.
The University Chancellor, Doctor of Economics, Professor S.N. Glagolev told the guests about the achievements of BSTU, and its progress. The head of the university particularly spoke on the students training. Sergei Nikolaevich drew the attention of visitors to the fact that the university has a preparatory department for foreign citizens, where the future Shuhov University students will not only learn the Russian language, but also adapt to life in Russia.
Complementing S.N. Glagolev’s speech, the FirstVice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. N.A. Shapovalov said the following: "We are doing our utmost so that international students could feel themselves at home."
The representative of Pakistan expressed his admiration of the level of the university: "We did not expect that in Russia we can find such a great school. The facilities and achievements of the university make us review our policies and send more young people to study in your country. "
The guests shared their expectations of the cooperation with the university. Then, the foreign guests were invited to a tour of the university.
Dean of the Preparatory Faculty for foreign students, PhD, E.N. Legochkina spoke on innovative methods of working with students from different countries. After talking with preparatory students, the delegation learned about how to teach young people with care and attention.
At the Department of Architecture, Deputy Head of Department of Y.M. Kalinin told the guests about the work which is being carried out under the guidance of teachers, students. Great interest was aroused to layouts and projects made by future architects.
In the central control room, they examined personal and fire safety at the University.
The visitors were impressed by visiting the Department of Physical Culture and Sports and the swimming pool.
The delegation also came to the resource center of the French and German languages.
In the afternoon, the guests talked to the staff at the section of nanotechnology in building materials and later the guests got acquainted with the developments of the department of mechanical equipment.
A visit to the diorama-museum "The Battle of Kursk " made a lasting impression on the guests.
