Bridges of friendship strengthened by Turkish students (December 18, 2012 )

Turkish students Tugche Ylmazer and Çağlar Danadzhi are being trained at the preparatory faculty for foreign citizens at BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. Both of them are graduates of Ankara State University, specializing in philology. For the Turkish students their interest to Russian is not accidental. Bilateral interstate relations between the Turkish Republic and Russia last for more than five centuries. The Soviet state used to help a young Turkish Republic. Today, the Russia and Turkey are successfully developing trade relations. As of 2010, Russia was the second most important trade partner of Turkey. Turkey, meanwhile, is ranked the seventh place in the foreign trade of the Russian Federation.
In the future Tugche Ylmazer and Çağlar Danadzhi who also speaks English, would like to make the Russian language a profession. Due diligence and hard work, both are well advanced in learning the language of Pushkin Chekhov, Tolstoy. Confidence and support from Senior Lecturer Raisa Romanovna, gives them love for the Russian language, our culture.

In addition to academics, students are introduced places of interest in the city and Belgorod region. Recently, they have been in the library, the Museum of A.S. Pushkin, visited a secondary school. Everything they saw allowed them to take a fresh look at the history of Russia, Belgorod region, more understanding and new views.
Turkish students are of the opinion that Russia, with its traditions, culture and tolerance, could become a bridge of friendship with the Eastern countries.
