Useful for international students
In late November, BSTU held a traditional annual meeting of foreign students with representatives of police and migration authorities in Belgorod. Foreign students come to study in Russia and are often not familiar with the laws of the new country, they would like to know more about their rights and responsibilities in the Russian Federation. The university holds regular theme events to explain the foreign citizens the norms of the Russian law and ensure crime prevention.
Migration officers consulted the students on entry and stay in Russia, the ways they can receive a temporary residence permit in the Russian Federation or Russian citizenship, in addition, they discussed other social and domestic problems students face in everyday life.
Foreign nationals were explained the provisions of the current immigration laws, policies in issuing work permits. The students asked questions about how to be registered in the Migration Service, the procedure of issue and expiry of the visa, the rules of engagement in labor activities in Russia, the possibility of obtaining residency and citizenship of the Russian Federation. Many of the recommendations of migration service staff undoubtedly help international students to avoid complications with the law, make their stay in Russia not only useful, but also enjoyable and safe.
