If I were a queen….
This was the name of one of the competition parts of “Miss University” contest, which took place in the Students Art Center of BSTU on March 6. It became a good tradition for our University. Nine girls took part in competition of youth, femininity and beauty. The participants showed off their beauty, talent and sense of humor, taste and creativeness in competitions: “Business card” and “My hobby” and “If I were a queen” fashion show. Every participant is praiseworthy, because preparation for such prestigious competition requires strength, talent and courage.
“If I were a queen” fashion show was devoted to the Year of Russian history. It was the highlight of the program. The Girls wearing Slavic dresses demonstrated their grace and artistry. Each of them was supposed to finish a poetic line “If I were a queen”. It is an exact definition for participants, competing for this high award. Most of participants accepted the challenge with all gravity. Their wishes were related to charity, taking care of old people, orphans and peaceful world for everybody. Some of them suggested to make BSTU the center of universe.
The board of judges was represented by the director of analytical center G.V. Shekhovcov, chief expert of dormitory S. A. Kemenov, the head of drama school at the Students Art Center
E. Migunov, choreographer of modern dance school “Dance Chaos”, manager of “Fed stuff family” and dance school “Dance unity” from Kharkov, the director of tourist agency “Dobrokhod” – D. Kucheryavy. It was not easy to choose the winner.
Every participant has her own individuality. Paiva Era Patricia Anapaz de Kashtru from Angola (5th year student of Institute of Architecture and Construction, representative of Association of foreign students) not only knows how to dance capoeira and samba very well. Her inner life is particular by the kindness from the bottom of her heart. She deserved the “Viewers choice Award”.
Antonina Popil (a first year student at Belgorod Institute of Engineering and Economics) got “Miss spring spirit” award. She sings and plays volleyball. She studies well and is actively involved into social life.
Nobody stayed indifferent to the bright and expressive performance of Yana Beregovaya
(3d year at the Institute of Economics and Management). For the several past years she has been the University “Snow girl” at Christmas Celebrations. She is a member of artistic recitation club. Yana became “Miss Fascination” because she is cheerful, kind, courageous and sociable.
Anna Pospelova (4the year student at Transportation Technology Institute) showed off all of her talents: she is not only the holder of local governor scholarship, but takes an active part at the university social life, singing in the Cossack choir (folk music group). In addition she can paint, knit, sews and embroiders. She really deserves her “Miss Talent” award.
Anna Malysheva (doing her 1st year at Institute of Technological equipment and Machine Building) does choreography. She treats dance not only as life, but as a part of a person. Her plasticity and talent were awarded with «Miss Style” prize.
Ekaterina Prasolova (4the year at the Institute of Architecture and Construction) made a humorous “business card” performance. She brilliantly showed off her vocal and chorographical abilities. The Board of Judges granted her with “Miss tenderness” award.
Natalya Naidukova (3rd year at Power Engineering Institute) delighted public with piano playing. She worked up audience the attention and got “Miss Grace” award.
Performance of Daria Danilina (3rd year at the Institute of Building Materials Science and Technospheric Safety) was uncommon and distinctive. She is a very gifted person. But the most important thing: Daria is the captain of BSTU women’s “Wit Club” team “in dress”. It enabled her to get a great fan team and made an unusual performance. She deservedly got her “Miss Extravagance” award.
Tatyana Matsina (4th year student at IT and control Systems Institute) expected to see full auditorium and to fill friendly ambience. She just wanted her performance to be unforgettable. And her dream, by no means, came true. The audience gave her warm and friendly welcome. And she got “Miss University” award from the Board of Judges!
