Bridge of Friendship
BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov is doing a great job, so that young graduates enter the big life not as narrow area specialists, but broadly educated people. Students are brought up in the spirit of tolerance, are introduced to the customs and traditions of other nations. And the atmosphere at the university itself, where foreign nationals from countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America are taking courses, contributes to this. Significant contribution to the international education of students is made by the Regional Resource Centre for French and German languages created in BSTU.
Coming into the center the students find themselves on a bridge of friendship linking Russia with other countries. Bright, informative brochures, posters, books, music, videos - all these attracts considerable interest, the desire to become better acquainted with the culture of other countries and peoples. Everything here appeals to friendly communication, meetings with representatives of diverse cultures.
The purpose of theme nights arranged by the Centre is not only to provide truthful and interesting information, but also language communication, which helps the students to improve their oral skills and learn more about the language they study.
The celebration of December 23 of the most favorite in Europe – Christmas can be called a really bright event by right. That evening France was in the focus, with its lovely New Year customs and traditions. Everyone come to enjoy French cuisine, demonstrate their talents and knowledge of French. You couldn’t find bored people on a holiday. It was impossible to sit still, you could not but surrender this firework of acting, singing, contests, games and dances. We must pay tribute to the organizers of the event - Sabine Valieva, head interpreter, Sarah Maud, an intern teacher from France, Ekaterina Kugan,a university staff member. They did their best to make the guests feel at home and remember this day for a long time.
