The acquaintance with the places of interest is going on
Students form Ankara university are taking a Russian language course at BSTU. At first, the young people from this far-away country had a very little idea about Belgorodia, its history and local people. For this quite a short period of time they got acquainted with the life of belgorodians, local culture, customs and traditions, at the same time improving their Russian language skills. The students had a number of exciting excursions to the Craftsmanship Centre in the village of Kupino, the Arts Museum in Belgorod, other places of interest in the city and the surroundings.
On August 6 the Turkish students went to the town of Graivoron, where they visited a zoo, created by a local resident. The zoo has all the best conditions for keeping exotic birds. The excursion was led by the person, who takes care of the zoo. He spoke in detail about rare birds and allowed the Turkish students to feed the birds from the hands. When saying good-bye, he presented small souvenirs to the visitors.
On their way back the group visited a students camp near the town of Borisovka, where the young people could swim in fresh waters of the Vorskla river and use boats.
While going back to Belgorod the students told that the excursions and events arranged by the preparatory faculty for foreign students, communication with people contributed to better understanding of the Russian mentality, higher respect to the people, whose language they are
studying.
