All-Russian Educational Forum «Seliger-2010» was opened on the lake of Seliger. This year thousands of young people from all over Russia, CIS and foreign states got together in a camp. BSTU delegation, headed by professor Valeria Strokova (Director of the research institute “Nanosystems in Building materials study), was actively participating in the event. The following people were among the participant V. Buryachenko, engineer, A. Maksakov, engineer of the department of Construction materials production, E. Miroshnikov, head specialist of distance learning Faculty, V. Nelyubova A. Bukhalo, E. Fomina, faculty members working at the nano systems section , M. Lebedev, A. Lopatko, T. Streltsova, post graduate students and others.

Dmitry Medvedev, President of Russia joined the forum ob July, 8. On his arrival he visited the “City of Innovation” pavilion, exhibiting the developments of young scientists all over Russia. We should note that this is not only a chance to present your project, but to look for an investor. During the President’s visit to the exhibition, Anna Bukhalo, BSTU Faculty member, told him about a new material – heat –insulating nano-structured cellular concrete for construction purposes. She acquainted Dmitry Medvedev with the material characteristics and marked that its use is particularly urgent for the Northern regions.
The main goal of numerous projects presented in Seliger is power efficiency. We note that many of the projects, which existed only on paper a year ago, are being implemented now. Among the participants of the forum were representatives of the Faculty of Information Systems and Control technologies (Department of Technical Cybernetics): A. Bazhanov, computer programmer, post-graduate V. Porkhalo, computer programmer , D. Yudin, engineer, A. Kamynin, Y. Koshlich, BSTU graduate, proceeding their post-graduate studies. All of them are ready to present their projects, which are already being used in the production process.
Starting form this year the Seliger camp acquired an international status. Students from 89 states attended the event. According to Dmitry Medvedev this is the best evidence that Russia intends to be a modern and open country.
