The Art Unites the People
On June 21 the students from Turkey visited Belgorod Art Museum
16 young people from Turkey are taking a Russian language course at the preparatory faculty for foreign students.
Within the framework of their acquaintance with the Russian culture, history and traditions the staff of the Russian language department arranged an excursion for Turkish students to Belgorod State Art Museum. The museum has opened the exhibition of Russian paintings of the second half of XIX century and the beginning of XX from the funds of the Art Museum in Yaroslavl. The original paintings of famous Russian artists - I. Kramskoy, I. Aivazovski, V. Perov, N. Bogdanov-Belski, S. Zhukovski, P. Petrovichev, V. Polenov and others – all in all 78 works of art, marking the blooming of Russian national art. Each of the above names represent a whole epoch in the cultural life of Russia.
The students had a unique opportunity to admire the art of the prominent artists. The following works painted by Russian impressionists attracted young peoples’ attention: a Landscape of Montmartre in Paris, three still life paintings by К. Korovin. One more famous author – А.V. Кuprin, was represented by his works «The Players», «Still life. Round Table» dated by1914. The works of his creative colleagues – I.I. Mashakov, А.I. Мilman, R.R. Falk vividly represent the creative activity of the Artists Association «The Jack of Diamonds». They acquaint the spectator with Russian avat-guard of the XX century. The works of “Blue Rose” association are filled with the poetics and symbolism : N.N. Sapunov «Performance in the Circus», P.V. Kuznetsov «Portrait of Е.М. Bebutova», F.М. Botkin «A Model», as the works by М.S. Saryan and N.P. Krymov.
Having visited the exhibition of Russian paintings the foreign students extended their scope of the artistic development in Russia and got an aesthetic pleasure. The excursion arranged by the initiative of the Russian language department will contribute to, not only greater success in language study, but also understanding between the nations.
