Extending cooperation areas
On March 17, 2010 foreign students of Shukhov University had a meeting. The event was attended by professor V.S. Lesovik, vice-rector on research and innovations, doctor of science, professor R.V. Lesovik, vice-rector on foreign activity, I.A. Sukhorukov, director of the centre of international education and cooperation, E.N. Legochkina, dean of the preparatory faculty for foreign students, candidate of science, L.V. Kondratenko, head of the department of international education, candidate of science. Professor Yasir Allaham, also attended the meeting.
The agenda included the discussion of electing the members of BSTU foreign students Council, which is supposed to coordinate the activities of international students, provide assistance in case a student has a problem, interact with university divisions.
The meeting was opened by professor V.S, Lesovik, who stressed the importance of international cooperation in education and told about the university intention to extend this sphere of activity recruiting more students from abroad to study at Shukhov university.
Doctor Ray Atitsogbui, the president of Belgorod branch of Russian association of foreign students assured everybody that the students’ Council and the Association will actively work on foreigners’ adaptation in Russian institutions and making their life more interesting and active. He expressed hope that our university will take the place it deserves at the international market of educational services.
