Anniversary of Architects’ Association
"Thank you for my and my friends’ living in this beautiful city" – said A.K Kosenkova, the representative of creative intellectuals, , who came to congratulate the Belgorod regional organization of the Architects’s Association at the event dedicated to its 50th anniversary. Any person living in Belgorod can subscribe to the above words.
On October 6, the Students’ Art Centre at BSTU hosted the celebration ceremony. The event was attended by distinguished visitors, who were demonstrated the best achievements of Belgorod architectural school.
The governor of the Belgorod region, E.S Savchenko, accompanied by the representatives of the Presidium of the Russian Architects’ Association could get acquainted with this year’s best projects, presented by various organizations. It is pleasant to state that among the works, which deserved attention were projects prepared by BSTU graduates. Diploma project made by Zakharova was dedicated to the construction of the Sochi Olympics sites. This unique project was awarded with three diplomas at the recently held competition in Voronezh.
The diploma Project made by E. Drokina, a graduate of the Institute of architecture and construction "Arranging a residential structure on the complex topography in Belgorod" was aimed at reconstruction of the streets in the area of Michailovskoye Highway. Elena attempted to create the most favorable climate for the inhabitants. The author proposes construction works on the terraced hills based on - "steps" principle to ensure that all residents of the neighborhood could enjoy the beauty of the city.
Another project, made by BSTU graduates is dedicated to Revitalization of deteriorating environment in the zone of railroad influence in Belgorod, with construction of one-or two-storey building styled as 19th and early 20 th century buildings. Residential home-based business class will coexist with small shops and workshops. And the visitors will be able to stay in a comfortable hotel.
The governor of the Belgorod region highly praised the projects at the exhibition. Speaking at the ceremony, Yevgeny Stepanovich said: "The task of any government lies in improving the living environment for the population. Today, our region is experiencing a kind of Renaissance of the architecture, we have created conditions for each person in Belgorod oblast to be able for a creative approach in realizing an individual look of each private house. This primarily refers to individual housing construction. Every house should be a small masterpiece of architecture - to be unique. " The Governor highlighted the regional program "Green Capital", which provides an active landscape design and creation of 200 park zones with a unique design.
Also the head of local government emphasized the contribution of BSTU named after V.G Shukhov in creating a unique architectural look of cities and villages of Belgorod oblast, and expressed hope that the region is going to become a pearl of Russia, owing to the creativity both of experienced architects and the recent graduates. Yevgeny Savchenko awarded B. Pertsev, the head of architectural administrative office, with an honorary title "Honoured Architect of the Russian Federation."

Vice-President of Russian Architects’ Association, V.A Churilov, on behalf of the Association, presented certificates of honor to a number of architects of the Belgorod region. It is pleasant to note that among the awardees were BSTU teaching staff members.
While congratulating the architects with the anniversary, Professor S.N Glagolev, BSTU Chancellor said the following: "For fifteen years, our university has trained students specializing in the architecture and design of buildings. Despite a relatively short period of time, the students of these professions have become award winners and winners of the most prestigious architectural competitions. Every year, dozens of young professionals join the qualified architects and designers of Belgorod oblast. It is significant that 12 of our graduates are admitted to the Russian Architects’ Association. All these years, the representatives of regional organizations actively participate in the educational process of the university, helping young professionals in their professional adaptation. Eight members of the Russian Architects’ Association are our faculty member. Three of them have the honorary title "Honoured Architect of Russia."

Professor I.A. Degtev, Director of the Institute of Architecture and construction also addressed his warm words to the colleagues. Vesides Ilya Alekseevich gave awards to the graduate students, whose graduation works were given prizes in Voronezh.
The representatives of creative associations and cultural foundations also came to congratulate the Russian Architects’ Association with its 50-th anniversary.
