Accommodation

Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov provides accommodation to all the students, who live outside Belgorod.

Halls of residence for students at BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov is represented by 5 dormitories, located within the campus area and 1 student dormitory — in the city center. Over 3000 students live in 6 halls of residence, number of people sharing rooms is 2-4, post graduate students are allowed single or double room accommodation.

Halls of residence create all conditions for everyday life, studies and recreation. There are premises for organizing the academic process, healthcare service, sport practice and cultural events. Dormitories have a library, free Internet access, clothing and shoe repair workshop, laundry facilities, document processing center. 

Every BSTU dormitory has a canteen or a café and a food store. In addition, in the near proximity the university campus there is a catering facility with a bakery and pastry shop, 2 swimming pools, sports grounds equipped for various kinds of sport. 

The territory adjacent to the dormitories has car and bicycle parking areas. Dormitories №5 and №6 are equipped with wheelchair ramps.

A students’ self-governance council (Students Council) is elected by students living in the halls of residence. The Students Council represents their interests and creates the conditions for self-fulfillment, developing intellectual and creative abilities of young people, as well as maintaining exemplary housekeeping manner and public order in the halls of residence.

Moral building activities in the student dormitories is an integral part of educational work of the university and conducted by the Council for the work in the dormitories, the Students Council, deputy-directors of the institutes for the work in the dormitories, tutors of residence sections as well as the management «Technolog» residential estate. Cultural and education work in the student dormitories is accomplished in accordance with the plans of the Council for the work in the dormitories and the Students Council of dormitories.

For coordination of the work in the dormitories, meetings of the Council for the work in the dormitories are held on a monthly basis. Among the issues discussed during the Council meetings are preventive  activities related to security issues, counteraction against manifestation of extremism and terrorism, drug abuse, corruption, smoking and other asocial events among the students as well as the issues of cultural and educational work with the students who stay in the dormitories.

A significant amount of socio-cultural work is conducted by the Council for the work in the dormitories and the Students Council in the dormitories. During an academic year over 50 cultural and educational events are held in the halls of residence including poetry and music nights, contests, sport competitions, meetings with interesting people and representatives of migration service, military actions participants, Federal Drug Control Service, healthcare system and the church. All those who live in the hostel can take part in «Weekend excursion» project and take a tour of the sights of the Holy Belgorodia. In 2022 a students’ club «A step to Russia» was created – a students’ community aimed at bringing together all international students’ associations to give assistance in their adaptation, building and facilitating communication process between Russian and foreign students.

Providing accommodation to the students of V.G. Shukhov BSTU

In conformance with the Rules of admission to Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov full time students living outside Belgorod, enrolled to the university on a basis, funded from the Federal budget of the Russian Federation (hereinafter referred to as budget-funded), as well as those enrolled on a basis of complete reimbursement of training costs are provided accommodation in the halls of residence of BSTU named after V.G.Shukhov. Part-time students, living outside Belgorod are provided accommodation on a period of examinations, if available.

in dormitories for non-resident students

Full-time students enrolled in the branches of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov are given accommodation in compliance with local legal acts of the related university branches.

Accommodation for applicants to BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov:

To get accommodation in a dormitory you have to submit the following documents to the Students Healthcare Center (dormitory №1; working hours from 9.00 to 16.00):

• A passport copy (pages №2, 3 and 5);
• A copy of vaccination certificate;
• A copy of medical insurance policy;
• Result of lung fluorography examination (made no earlier than one year ago).

Dormitory check-in in a new academic year will be done according to the established schedule. On the first day for the assigned institute the first-year students are given accommodation, the second day is for the second to fifth-year students, master degree and post graduate students. In case a student failed to arrive on an appointed date for good reason he is required to inform the management of «Technolog» residential estate in advance on the following e-mail uszhk@bk.ru, or on the phone number 30-99-52.
