History of the Institute of Information Technologies and Control Systems.
The Institute of Information Technologies and Control Systems, the successor to the Faculty of Industrial Automation and Information Technologies, traces its history back to 1988.
Academic Council of Belgorod State Technological University named after. V.G. Shukhov on September 27, 2005 made a decision to transform the Faculty of the Faculty of Industrial Automation and Information Technologies into Institute of Information Technologies and Control Systems, which included three graduating departments: Computer Software and Automated Systems, Technical Cybernetics, Information Technologies. Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Full Member (Academician) of the Russian Metrological Academy, Corresponding Member of the International Academy of Information, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Vasily Grigorievich Rubanov was appointed a director of The Institute of Information Technologies and Control Systems.
In 2011, the Institute incorporated another graduating department, “Standardization and Quality Management.”
In April 2016, by the decision of the Academic Council, the Institute of Power Engineering, Information Technologies and Control Systems was established based on the merger of Power Engineering and the Institute of Information Technologies and Control Systems. Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Alexander Vladimirovich Belousov was appointed director of the institute.
In September 2023, due to the intensity of development of information technology and the focus of the country’s economy on digitalization, it was decided to re-establish the Institute of Information Technologies and Control Systems. Doctor of Technical Sciences Igor Sergeevich Konstantinov was appointed director of the institute.
