History of the trade union
Since the foundation of our university, the trade union has been a single organization for the faculty, employees, and students. In 1976, the student trade union committee gained independence. On the 7th of June, 1994 two trade unions merged into one with the election of a joint trade union committee at a trade union conference of the faculty, employees, and students. This merger was accomplished pursuing to unite the efforts of the whole team to solve social and economic issues as well as enhance the cultural and moral standards of students and employees.
The trade union has faced the increasing number of tasks and issues due to the considerable changes that occurred directly in the educational institutions over the last 5 years, namely:
- сhanges in the system of university management and its the legislative base,
- the organizational restructuring,
- the introduction of the new remuneration plan, the integration into the single European space,
- the implementation of the Unified State Examination,
- the development of the two-level educational system,
- the strengthening of the quality control of education,
- the transition to a new generation of standards.
The primary trade union of the university has to cooperate with the university administration and the regional committee of the trade union to solve existing problems. It should base its work on the dialogue, social partnership, using the mechanisms of surveys, monitoring, analysis, information awareness, and development of creative teams and working groups.
