Our sports achievements
University stuff has been always working hard to promote sports among students that’s why many of our students have succeeded in sports. There are one "Honored Master of Sports of Russia", four "Master of Sport of Russia, International Class", fifty "Master of Sport of Russia", and more than 260 "Candidates for Master of Sport."
Among them:
- Yevgeny Tishchenko (PhD.) is "Merited Master of Sport of Russia" in boxing, champion of the World University Games, European, National and World Champion, gold medal at the Olympic Games in Brazil.
- Vadim Nemkov is "Master of Sport of Russia, International Class" in Combat Sambo, European and World Champion, winner of international competitions.
- Yevgenia Poletova is "Master of Sport of Russia, International class" in kickboxing, multiple winner of Kickboxing World Cup, Silver Medal in the World Championship, Champion Of Russia.
- Gugaev Oleg is "Master of Sport of Russia, International class" in kickboxing, prizewinner of the Russian and International championships and competitions.
- Dyachkov Oleg is "Master of Sport of Russia, International class" in kettlebell lifting, European, National and World Champion.
- Neklyudov Igor is "Master of Sport of Russia" in handball, winner of the European Champions Cup in beach handball, a member of the Russian national team, participant in the World Cup in Brazil.
- Anastasia Beluchenko is "Master of Sport of Russia" in kickboxing, winner of the national prize "Golden Belt" of the Russian Martial Arts Union.
- Vinokur Constantine is "Master of Sport of Russia" in handball, a member of the Russian national team, winner of the European Champions Cup in beach handball.
- Zadorozhny Nikita is "Master of Sport of Russia" in handball, European Champion in beach handball among youth.
- Chetverikov Boris is "Master of Sport of Russia" in handball, European Champion in beach handball among youth.
Our varsity teams successfully represent our university. They constantly improve their skills and promote their sport:
The university handball team are nine-time winners of the Cup of Russia and five-time winners of the national beach handball championship. Prizewinners of the Russian Handball Championship among men's teams of the Premier League. 36 handball players have been awarded the sport title "Master of Sport of Russia." Ten our students are in the youth national team and prizewinners of the European Beach Handball Championship. Multiple winners of the Youth Russian Beach Handball Championship.
The university volleyball team (women) are bronze prizewinners of the fifth National Summer University Games 2016, bronze prizewinners of the Russian Championship among teams of the first League.
Varsity teams of the BSTU successfully perform both as part of "Russian Student Sports Union" and part of "Association of Students' Sports Clubs of Russia" in:
- volleyball (men and women);
- basketball (men and women);
- kickboxing;
- futsal (men);
- handball;
- kettlebell lifting;
- chess (men and women);
- table tennis;
- other.
One of the area of the University's educational activity is the formation of the healthy lifestyle among students, the promotion of physical and moral education among the youth, the prevention of antisocial behavior in the students’ environment, the improvement of physical health, and enhancing the level of sport expertise.
Healthy lifestyle is being always promoted for the successful realization of activities in V.G. Shukhova BSTU. University creates favorable opportunities to meet the diverse interests of students. Sports events enhance friendly relations between international students. University comprehensively supports students who are eager to develop themselves in various sports. We work hard to develop health-saving technologies and student sports as part of the systematic approach to education and our understanding of the importance of the development of a harmonious personality.
V.G. Shukhova BSTU has won for many times the national competition "Institution of Higher Education — Healthy Lifestyle" and in 2016 won the contest "Healthy University."
The Department of Physical Education and Sports has organized and operates a sports club "Technolog" to achieve high sports results, as well as promote healthy lifestyles and actively engage students in sports, The manager and members of the club are university students. Financial support is provided at the expense of the university.
The Department of Physical Education and Sports with the support of the university's administration, has developed plan for organizing and implementing measures for the performing of standards of Ready for Labour and Defense among students as part of gradual introduction of the "Russian Physical Culture and Sports Programme "Ready for Labor and Defense" in the country. Recently, the number of registered students in the Automated Information System of the National Physical Culture and Sports Programme "Ready for Work and Defense" has reached 1421, and 1031 people took part in the testing. Gold badges received 6 students, silver — 28, bronze — 59. I Shukhov Festival of Ready for Labor and Defense took place at the university under the motto "From the RLD badge to the health of the nation" in 2016–2017 academic years.
The Department of Physical Education and Sports organized 38 sports and wellness club, where more than 1500 people train. V.G. Shukhov BSTU has developed great sports infrastructure. There are two gyms for conducting educational and training classes.
